I haven't read a book through in over 2 years and I just finished "Sexiest Man Alive" in once day - it was refreshing! Thank you so much for sharing your creativity! (J. J. B., USN)

Just think what you can do tomorrow :- )
--Diana

I just finished reading "How To ame A Modern Rogue." I found it to be very good.

Hey, glad you liked it! Hope you get a chance to pick up my backlist. And stay tuned for what's coming next...it's pretty unusual :-) --Diana

Hi Diana - just wanted to thank you for the brilliant workshop on cliches. I'm racing through my current work now in an effort to get any cliches out of there. What a great presentation! -- Nicki Greenwood, Romance Author

Hi Nicki! Thanks so much for coming to the workshop and for being brave enough to submit work for critique. I'm so glad you got something out of it. It was great seeing everyone in Central New York again! Keep in touch! --Diana

Hi Diana, I read your interview on Kelly Moran's blog and won a copy of your book! I can't wait to read it. and I am having a good time checking out your website. I am glad to have discovered a new author! Have a wonderful weekend.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you like ROGUE. --Diana

Hi Diana, I was wondering If you are working on any new videos to go with that new book coming out! I have to say that the way I discovered your books was through your videos and I really enjoy watching all the ones you've done. They are really funny and it helped me to buy your book. So I was hoping to see a new one for the upcoming book. I can't wait to read it but Your videos really Rock! Thanks Kerrie

Hi Kerrie. Thanks for asking about the videos. I am working on one for Rogue. Or two...or three....heh, heh. You know how I am once I get started. I didn't do any videos for Hungry for More because I was too busy. (See that little stopping problem above.) But I do have some ideas I'm dying to do for Rogue and I hope I'll get to them soon. Keep checking back. --Diana

Hi Diana- Your books sound like fun! I was entering your HEA contest but didn't find a submit button! I will check back again in case it was a glitch on my computer. Thanks. MarthaE mesreads@gmail.com

Hi Martha. You're not the first person who has told me that, but I'm not sure what's wrong. The button shows on my computer. Being a computer genius (ha!), I think that checking back is a great idea. Maybe it's a glitch with the form. If there's still no submit button, you can e-mail me at contest@dianaholquist.com and I'll get that, too. One more reason we all deserve a happy ending: technology! :- ) Diana

Hi Diana - Just coming back to see what's new. Love the re-designed site. Am I embarassing myself by saying that? Was it re-designed a long time ago? :) Love, Sara (soon-to-be Holquist)

Hi Sara! Yeah, I redesigned the site to match the new book cover for Modern Rogue. Gotta shake things up every now and then. Can't wait to see you in D.C.! Not long now...--Diana

Thanks for your interest Diana. I don't really understand the issue either. I'm told by Books on Board that it is an issue with Hatchette. I'm told by others that it isn't Hatchette, but rather that the author (so I guess that means you!) hasn't sold the international rights to the digital book to Hatchette so they can't distribute (or something like that). Maybe they could buy your international digital rights and then I can buy your books and we can all win!!??! I still don't really undertstand the problem because I could buy the paper book and have it shipped over here and really, what's the difference? But that's just me I guess! In any event, I will check back to see what your publisher tells you. thanks again. -Kathryn Allen.

Hi Kathryn. It's not me! Believe me, if I could sell my international rights, I would. But I need someone to buy them. If Books on Board only buys the right to "ship" to the US, there's not much I can do about it. I don't own my international rights, my publisher does. That's pretty standard. There's no WAY my publisher would ever let me have any of my electronic rights--it's just not done. Frustrating, I know. Frustrating for me, too. --Diana

Hi Diana, I have just finished Sexiest Man Alive which I bought after reading the review at Dear Author.com. I really enjoyed it. I didn't realise it was the 2nd in a trilogy and after reading it, I tried to buy the other 2. For some reason I can't seem to buy them as ebooks, even though it wasn't a problem for the Sexiest Man Alive - apparently they are not available in my country (Australia)? Do you know where I might be able to buy ebooks of Make me a Match and Hungry for More that I can read on my Sony reader here in Australia? thx Kathryn Allen.

Hi Kathryn. It's a frustrating situation that ebooks can't be international. It seems like a no-brainer. But there are all sorts of rights issues that I don't understand and that I can't control. I asked my publisher if they had any more information, and as soon as I get it, I'll post it here. Thanks for reading Sexiest Man Alive. I really appreciate your support. -- Diana

Hi Diana! I just finished reading your One True Love triology. They were great. I enjoyed the different type of the sister's personalities, and the "realness" of your stories. Your writing has so much emotion, that I could "feel" their responses. I can't wait for your next book!

Thanks for reading them all. How to Tame a Modern Rogue will be out the end of July. I just (finally) put up an excerpt. Thanks for stopping by. --Diana

Hi Diana. I live in South Africa(the other end of the world!). The other day i went to a book store and just by luck i happened to see the cover of the "Sexiest Man Alive". I got the book and could not put it down. I just finished the book now, and i am so sad that i never read "Make Me A Match" first. However, i am going to my book store in about half an hour to get it! I can't wait! Diana I have to hand it to you, this book is amazing! In South Africa we have a local star, he is kinda like Ryan Seecrest, same sort of thing... he is a presenter - his name is Colin Moss, everytime I read about Josh Toby I saw Colin. Mmmm and the cover, what can i say - I'm hungry for more! Well done on an unbelievable book! LUV YA. Jenna.

Wow, Jenna. How sweet of you! You made my night. Hope you like Make Me a Match! --Diana

Loved "Sexiest Man Alive" and you may be interested to know I saw it as an advance copy in the home of a friend who is also a bookseller. If he listened to me, he's buying! Good luck, Diana!

Oh, steal that copy from him! The yellow ones might be worth something someday. Er, borrow it, I mean. So pleased that you liked the book!
:-) Diana

Hi Diana! I just finished Sexiest Man Alive! I loved it. I think I like it more than Make Me a Match. It is a great second story and now I can't wait for Amy's story. I'm going to get it now! LOL Please keep writing! Lynne

Hey, thanks for reading Sexiest Man Alive, Lynne. --Diana

Diana: Your book seems like a great sexy romp! How fun. Gotta love those abs. Do you by chance, know this person on your cover? Your plot seems so fresh and I loved the excerpt. Dyan (voiceoftheangels.com)

Hi Dyan. Thanks so much for stopping by. I love your cookbook! Talk about fun. The man on the cover, the sexiest man alive, is, of course, my husband....Okay, so no. Not really. Here's what I do know about him: This cover gig was his first ever modeling job. His day job is to teach special ed kids in New York City. Now is that sexy, or what? --Diana

Nice video...well done! Great background. He's hot! --Kim

Hi Kim. I'm glad you like the video...NOW GO READ THE BOOK! Oops, sorry, didn't mean to shout.
:-) Diana

Great video! LilacButterfly [at] earthlink.net

Thanks, LilacButterfly. Hope you like the book too...--Diana

Very cool video! HOT HOT HOT!! Rachael D from NJ

Hi Rachael. Glad you liked it. Keep coming back; I'm always making more. (So much more fun than actually working on my next manuscript...)--Diana

love the video. Wonder how I'd feel if it were me???? Your books are FUN! -- Peg

Hi Peg. Thanks for watching the video. Fun is what we're all about here. Okay, actually, this close to a new release, terror is more what we're about. But, I try not to dwell on that. Have a great weekend. --Diana

Phew!!!! Hot! Hot! Hot!! Video makes me want to read romance, though I never have!!!! Mickey Mac, LI Mickey3214@aol.com

LOL, Mickey. I never thought of the video as a public service, but if it makes you want to read romance, then I feel I've done some good today. --Diana

Gello Diana, You have a very nice website I am glad to have come across it. I am adding your site to my favorites. Hugssss LindaH (readingissomuchfun)

Thanks for stopping by, Linda. And thanks for the hug. I have roofers here today, pounding on my head--I mean, on my roof--and I needed a hug. :-) --Diana

For the 4th book, how about Finn's daughter. It'd be cool to catch a glimpse of how everyone is doing in the future. (not that it has to be to far in the future, some romaces start young and stay strong) looking foward to this relase and the next! Rachel Salazar Senior Bookseller & "Romance expert" Waldenbooks, Sumter

Hi Rachel! (waving madly) I LOVE that idea. In fact, she could meet up with young Troy from book three, Hungry for More...Oh, boy, do I owe you bigtime if I can make that work...--Diana (who stopped waving and is now plotting...)

Great books! Sandy G.

Thanks Sandy. Keep on reading! --Diana

I loved Make Me A Match and I can't wait to read Sexiest Man Alive . I will be buying it as soon as I can. Great trailer also! Congrats on the new book deal! Lynne

Thanks for the good wishes, Lynne. I really appreciate your support. Every new book out is a nail-biter for me, keeping fingers crossed that readers will buy it. --Diana

The video was fun. Phylli

Phylli--Glad you liked it. --Diana

You're the best author I've ever read. I've passed your books along to all my friends and we're all huge fans. Keep up the great work. Anna Metcalf

Anna--Wow. Thanks. That's so nice. You made my day!--Diana

Love all your books. Me and my mother-in-law have read them all and look forward to more in the future.

Great. There's more coming. I write as fast as I can. Which is, unfortunately, kinda slow... --Diana

Wish I had the book in the hands now - suspense will just about kill me! Thanks for the great contests. Wish more authors cared about their readers like you do. Clifton Wade

Thanks, Clifton. It's fun to get to know readers. And I hope it's fun for you to get to know me. Well, the good parts of me. You don't want to know about my Ben & Jerry's Superfudge Chunk problem. --Diana

sorry i forgot to leave my name i just commented on your video and can't wait to get the book. Lori

Great! --Diana

Wow! Looks Yummy. I can't wait to read this. Thanks!

Yummy indeed! Isn't he something else? --Diana

Great site!

Thanks! --Diana

Hi Diana, I am a member of your former chapter CNYRW and want to know if you are going to have a booksigning in New York again. Sorry to miss your first booksigning here in Ithaca. Can't wait for your new book to come out. We miss you in Central New York. Betty Johnson

Hi Betty! (waving madly) I'm sorry I missed you in Ithaca. I hope to get back there some day. Maybe with the next book. We had a blast. Ellen Hartman and Gwenyth Bolton from CNYRW (that's Central New York Romance Writers) were also there and it was a hoot. I miss you guys, too. I did get to see a bunch of the crowd at the Romance Writers of America National Conference, though. Gayle Caylen and Sue Marie and of course Chris Fletcher and so many more. Plus folks I hadn't met. Very fun. Let me know if you'll be at the New Jersey Romance Writer's convention in October. I should be there. --Diana

Wow - the book sounds like a must read! J. Kaye jkayeoldner@yahoo.com

That's what we like to hear! --Diana

cool site ! pam boland

Thanks, Pam. Sorry it's between contests. Stop back. --Diana

nice site !

Thanks. Come back soon! --Diana

Great stuff! Can't wait for more. Susie

Hi Susie. The next book, How to Tame a Modern Rogue, will be out in July. I'm writing as fast as I can (which, btw, isn't very fast...ugh!) --Diana

Hi Diana, I love these books. You have really outdone yourself. I really like visiting your website. What I like most about it is that when you leave a comment you answer. Most sites you leave a comment and nothing. But you really get involved with your readers. Thanks. Kimberly Lane

Hi Kimberly. I love to know what readers are thinking...so keep it coming! And feel free to e-mail me, too. I try to answer everything : )
--Diana

great site

Thanks. And thanks for visiting. --Diana

Hi Diana, Love reading your books. You also have some great books for prizes. I hope to win. I think you're too hard on yourself at times. You have some great books and I'd hate to be in your shoes trying to meet the deadlines. I don't complain about how long your books take b/c when they come out they are definately worth the wait. So thank you. Kimmy Cook

Hi Kimmy! Thanks for the words of encouragement. It is hard to meet the deadlines--but it's fun too. A challenge. At least that's what I say now, when I have months to go! Good luck in the contest and thanks for stopping by. --Diana

Hi books are always great prizes thought my family would swear to you that I have enough (as if there is such a thing as too many books) anyway Happy March and I like the cover with the gypsy - Beth R

Hi Beth. No such thing as too many books! --Diana

Amy's not bad-Paula simecka

No, she's not bad. Just wild. Maybe too wild. We'll just have to wait and see what she does... --Diana

Hi Diana, I too am sorry about the problem with the Amy blog. Keep the faith, you will prevail and besides, your fans are behind you. :) I love the book contest. I'll keep my fingers crossed for this one. Carol L.

I really enjoyed Make Me a Match..I am eagerly anticipating reading the sequels.

Oh good...Thanks for dropping in! -- Diana

I would love to win. You have some really great books. love your website too. can't wait til your next book comes out. will definately buy. kimberly l

Kimberly...I've been getting lots of e-mail complaining about how long the wait is between books. Believe me, it's hard for me to wait, too. But you can't believe how complicated the process of publishing a book is. It's amazing it happens at all. --Diana

I'd love to win! Please add my name to your list of entries. Christy hawkes AT citlink DOT net

Good luck, Christy! --Diana

Whoo-hoo, Diana! Thems some really good looking books! I'd love a chance to obtain them. I missed the story of the Haunted gypsy ring. But I once had a pair of earrings that my husband swore were evil witch earrings! They were a sun/moon/star pattern and for some reason they creeped him out. I finally gave them to a friend. Thanks!! Angie T

I sympathize with your husband, Angie. That ring was burning a hole in my drawer. I hope it brings Eva luck. But for me, it was just too powerful a thing to have hanging around. --Diana

Congrats Eva!!! Enjoy your prize (but that won't be a problem I think, lol. I love those contest: the waiting and hoping and counting down to the day that you know who's the winner. And than, if you're lucky to win, the happines!! Yeh, I really love them. - Stefanie

I hope this next contest is your lucky one, Stefanie. Good luck. --Diana

congrats to Eva on her win. I would love to win the books contest. Thanks.

Keep checking back--I'll add more as I get them from my other Warner author buddies! --Diana

Very cool contest - Beth R

Hi Beth. It was a cool contest. (For those of you coming late--it was a contest to win a haunted gypsy ring once owned by a gypsy witch who cast a spell over it so it could find its wearer her One True Love.) I really hope that Eva will write me so I can post what happens with the ring. There's GOT to be a great story in there. I'm sorry you didn't win...but enter again for the book contest. --Diana

Well like so many of your fans (especially the women) I would really like to have that ring! Looking at 52 here and have not found my soumate yet, but have kiss a few frogs along the way (oh thats another story)!!! But I do have your books to keep me company until I do, but any help I can get I will gladly take LOL. But your books are wonderful, funny, entertaining and definately a great read everytime I pick one up. So I am going to be very selfish and hope I win the ring. Thanks for sharing your talent. Debbie S. rdbebby @ sbcglobal.net

Hi Debbie. I don't think you're selfish at all. You deserve the ring. Hope you get lucky. (In more ways than one!) I'm looking forward to the drawing. Plus, I just got a whole batch of Warner Forever books from some great, fun writers that I'll have a contest for next month. More books! More contests! And thanks for the kind words about my book. I'm glad you liked it! --Diana

wow i need the ring and i am of romanian descent so hopefully it will help.i haven/t seen him in almost 20 years...deb

Hi Deb. Oooh, sounds like a story there. Did you have your One True Love, and lost him? The ring drawing is less than a month away! --Diana

That's one ring to die for! How I wish someone would give me such a delightful ornament. For the meantime, I'll just be here.. (wink, wink) Rachelle raeshylle[at]yahoo.com

Hi Rachelle. I'm sending good vibes your way! Good luck. The drawing is coming up soon--geez...time sure does fly. I've got to start planning the next contest. What do you all think? More jewelry? Something chocolate? Chocolate jewelry...--Diana

Wow, a a great prize from a great author!!! Diane...blacksnake@mchsi.com

Wow, thanks. Good luck! Love your e-mail addy, btw. --Diana

Oh, to possess such a ring. At the moment, having that on my finger or a man literally dropping from the sky onto my house would be the only way for this girl to find a true love. Luckily, I can read your wonderful stories while I'm waiting. Perhaps my true love will be the mailman, bringing a special package to the door...Hmmm Marcia Hodge

Hi Marcia. Oh, I do hope it's the mailman and not a mixed up paratrooper...hmm...maybe there's a story in there? Anyone ever read a romance about a man who fell from the sky? --Diana

Hi Diana, Just recently found your books and I can barely get anything done. Can't stand to put the books down until I have finished. Dirt piles under rugs, dishes stacked two deep in the dishwasher and digging out plenty of leftovers from the freezer keep things in order while you entertain my gray matter. Gray matter!!!! Yikes so that is what is under the bed. Hugs, Barb

Hi Barb. Oh, if I'm stopping anyone from housework, then my work here is done. Hooray! Life is too short for clean houses. So glad you enjoyed the book. More is on the way next fall...--Diana

Life is not always straight-forward and everything is not always as it seems. Luckily, your books are ALWAYS as good as the covers and brief "blurbs" make them seem. :) Please know that I'd LOVE to explore the mysteries of the gypsy ring. Donna H.

Thanks for the nice note. It made my day. Good luck in the contest! --Diana

I picked up your book "Make Me a Match" last week and loved it! Your writing is clever and witty. As an avid reader, I now rank you high on my list of great authors.

Hey, thanks. I like your writing, too! : ) --Diana

Diana, I am so glad to have found your site, and this contest, I can hardly wait for the ring to get here! Come to me my precious! Ginger

Ginger, you are hilarious. The ring is floating out the doorway now...down boy! Get back in your box! Bad ring! You have to wait for the drawing. ;-) --Diana

Elaine Beierbach I enjoyed yoru site. I shall look for the book!

Thanks for stopping by, Elaine. -Diana

I loved your book "Make Me A Match" and am looking forward to the next installment regarding this fun family. I'm going to read them all. Kristin D

Thanks for reading Make Me a Match. Sexiest Man Alive is Jasmine's story. Hungry for More is Amy's story. --Diana

Hi Diana, What a beautiful prize you are giving away and what a fantastic website you have! My name is Sharon J. from Nashville, Tennessee.

Hi Sharon. Thanks. I'm glad you like it. I'd love to know how you (and everyone!) found the site. Did you read the book first and then look it up? Or were you just surfing around? Curious novelists want to know. --Diana

Hi Diana, I was just reading through your site and you're hilarious. I loved your bio and the story about how you tried to test the ring. You have a wonderful sense of humor. Makes me want to read your book even more. Paula Q

Hi Paula. You wouldn't be THE Paula Q. would you? (Hint: another Warner Forever author, author of wonderful historicals...) If so, out yourself and tell visitors where to find you on the web/in the store. If not, then welcome in any case. All are welcome here. Especially people who think I'm funny. : ) --Diana

Super sight. so glad that I have found it. Barbara U.

Hi Barbara. Glad you found it too...thanks for the nice note. It made my day! --Diana

Carrie ...Judy...

Hi guys. I put your names and addresses in the contest entry. But PLEASE don't list that kind of info here--we dont' want any web weirdos stalking you. --Diana

The ring is beautiful and its history would be very interesting. You do have the most unique prizes in your contests. Thank you...Ruby Davis

Thanks, Ruby. Gotta figure a woman named Ruby would be into the jewelry! --Diana

THis would be great for my sister who is sad (more so than the rest of us) after my Mum passed away last year...She needs a GOOD man THanks kb

Hi KB. We all need a little more love. Especially when we lose someone. I'm so touched that so many people are entering the contest for other people. That's a gift that's way more important than a ring... --Diana

Hi my name is Diana F. I have a friend who needs a boyfriend right now she's a little depressed because she can't find one. I on the other hand am in mourning for my husband who passed away on January 13, 2006. Thank You Diana

I'm so sorry for your loss, Diana. Its so kind of you to enter for your friend... -- (the other) Diana

Hi! I just read Make Me a Match - it was great I loved it! The author notes in the book said you live in upstate NY. Is that REALLY upstate or just north of the city upstate? I was curious because I live in Ithaca and wondered if you do any book signing etc? Please le me know. My email is tbrenum@hotmail.com Thanks! Theresa

Oh Theresa...I would have said I live in the southern tier, but no one but you and me would have known what that meant. (Sorry, inside Ithaca-talk alert). I'm sure I know you...I know two Theresas in Ithaca. I wrote most of Make Me a Match at the Burger King on Pine Tree Road at 7 a.m. after leaving my Courtside Bodypump class...But sadly, we just moved to Philly after 9 yrs. in Ithaca. Talk about culture shock. What a change this place is. I'll blog or newsletter about it sometime when I have time. For those of you who don't know Ithaca, it's one of the most beautiful, unique towns around. I'm thinking of setting Amy's book there--which I'm writing now. Oye, I'm getting nostalgic here. I am going to do a booksigning in Ithaca at some point--I'm trying to get it together. Probably in November. I've got your e-mail, so I'll put you on my mailing list. Thanks for reading the book. Is it snowing up there yet? (Just kidding. Sort of.) --Diana

The highlight of the day was receiving the necklace(picture online doesn't do it justice) along with an autographed copy of Make Me A Match. Happy to have the extra copy of the book -now I don't have to worry about it not being returned to me by my sister! Looking forward to reading Jasmine's story. M. E.

Hi M.E.! I'm so glad you like it! It is something, huh? Enjoy! --Diana

I really enjoyed MAKE ME MATCH and SEXIEST MAN ALIVE. The theme of ONE TRUE LOVE is romance times two.I could hear your voice and humor. Can't wait to read HUNGRY FOR MORE. Love you, Lillian

Thanks for reading the book, Lillian. I'm so glad you liked it! --Diana

Love the ring!!! But I love your books even more!! Julie

That's the spirit! And who knows, maybe if you carry my book around the grocery store, you'll meet your One True Love. Maybe I can find a gypsy to cast another spell...--Diana : )

*Hugs* Sorrie for that mean person. My friend, Sheila English, with Circle of Seven Productions has had people do that too and most of them seem to like making people upset because their life is unfulfilling. I can send you the review that's going to be published next month, you just can't put it anywhere til then. I gave you 5 hearts out of 5, it's a charming story when you don't get to read about many modern gypsies. You can email me at either tenshiya_lysa@yahoo.com or lysa@suitemag.com ~Lysa

Hi again, Lysa. I'd love to see the review! 5 out of 5 sounds good to me! I'll e-mail you after I get the kids in bed. --Diana

Want that ring to work for me!! Diane, I am new to your website and your books but I must say they are both exciting and interesting. I will be hitting the bookstore to check them out! Debbie

Hope you like them...let me know. --Diana

I work for SUITE Magazine, http://www.suitemag.com I also review for the Writers Unlimited website so I divide the ARCs I get between the two sites. ^_^ ~Lysa

Lysa, I've got to go and check those sites out. Thanks for the review! If you want to see how I'm feeling about reviews, check out the warner women blog (click on the link on the bottom of the sidebar of this page) and go to the Sept 3rd blog.--Diana

First time on your website. Looking forward to reading your books. Spell or not I would love to win the ring. Joan Woods

Joan, good luck! Keep coming back...--Diana

Oops...I forgot to leave me name! So the last comment was from Kathleen E. :)

You have a great website!! And I'm looking forward to reading your new book :)

Kathleen, thanks! Now that the kiddies are off in school--first day today! happy dance!--I hope to be able to do more work on the site. I hope you like the book, too. --Diana

Diane - I can't tell you what a pleasant shock it was to see M. E. Chin of Boston as the winner of the necklace! My family asked me what I was shouting about! Given all the things that have happened in the past month, I am taking this as a sign of better times ahead. M. E.

Hi M.E.! I sent you an e-mail...I hope you got it. If not, e-mail me again so I can be sure I got your e-mail right. I'm out of town until Monday, but I'll mail it first thing Tuesday. I hope it's the start of great things. --Diana

Love the idea of the Gypsy ring--I really need all the help I can get!! And LOL about the grocery store! Melissa Mimmi862@aol.com

Melissa, I'm glad you like the idea of the ring, because it's burning a hole in my desk drawer. I have to get rid of it before my husband does... : ) --
Diana

Dark chocolate. Got it! Let's both hope! --Diana

I love your books Yvonne

Thanks, Yvonne! --Diana

I just finished the ARC last night (was made to stay up until 1am since it was so good I couldn't put it down) to review for an online magazine I work for and I loved it! Just had to share that. ^_^ Waiting on coffee to finish brewing before I type up the review so it gets into our October issue. Keep up the wonderful writing! ~Lysa

Thanks Lysa. I'm so thrilled you liked it. What online mag. do you write for? --Diana

These pieces make gorgeous music. A lady in my faire group has one that one of the hooks is broken so she has it laced with leather cord to wear on her belt. It's brave of you to give away the piece, they're very purrable and addicting! ^_^ ~Lysa

I know...sigh. But I'm sure it's going to a good home...Now the next piece for the new contest..that one gives me the shivers...--Diana

Lapis Lazuli is one of my favorite semi-precious stones along with malachite. The jewelry is very unique - I can see why you don't want to part with it. Susan Pertierra

But alas, today is the day I have to say goodbye...Maybe I'll wear it to breakfast...--Diana

Have a great day!! Brandy laird

You too, Brandy! --Diana

I want to win! My name and address: Linda G....

Thanks, Linda. I put your name and address in the pot. --Diana

it's a beauty.....krisitna burgoyne

Glad you like it, Krisitna. --Diana

Thanks for the opportunity to win this prize! --L McLendon

Thanks for entering! Don't forget to check back on the first for the new contest and to check on the winner. --Diana

Hi Diana! I can't wait until it gets cold so I can throw a log on the fire and curl up on my cozy couch with your book. Keep up the good work! Oh, by the way, the necklace is beautiful and the winner is going to be one lucky person!

Ah, winter....I'm dreaming of it too. Even though I left my woodstove behind in NY (sigh!)...enjoy the book...and don't forget the hot chocolate! --Diana

Wow... that excerpt got me. I just added "Hungry for More" to my birthday wishlist. I don't have TOO LONG to wait. - Donna H.

Hi Donna. Happy Birthday! I love that you two have such close b-days. He better get shopping! --Diana

The necklace is unique and it would be a conversation piece! The book sounds so interesting. My true love, my beloved husband of 43 years, died a year ago. Life is difficult without him. I miss him so much that I can hardly stand it. Mary, SC

Mary, I'm so sorry for your loss. There's nothing like finding a soulmate--or losing one. You're in my thoughts. --Diana

Hi Diane. I really enjoyed reading the first chapters on your site, and look forward to more books. Where did you find the necklace? (Niki, PoCo, BC, Canada)

Hi Niki. I found the necklace on the web. I felt incredibly lucky to get it. I'm not sure the seller wants to be outed on this site--but if you're really interested, e-mail me and I'll put you in touch. --Diana

Awesome site, Diane! And incredible necklace, too! I love dangling jiggling jewelry and wonderful books! Keep up the great work on your site! ... Wanda

Thanks, Wanda. I'm glad you like it. Keep on visiting. I'll keep adding more...it's way more fun chatting with you guys than working on the next manuscript. --Diana

Hey, neat info. Did anyone know that the Rom have there origins in India?

Which explains the dark eyes and hair... You're exactly right. The word Gypsy comes from "Egyptian," which is where Europeans in the 18th century thought Gypsies came from. But gypsies are definitely descended from Indian wandering tribes.

This is a fabulous piece. My mother has told me that my fathers father was a gypsy. I don't know if this is true or if she told me this when she was having a "moment" of not so fond remembrance.

Hmmm...so that could make you 1/4 gypsy. You should try to check it out. Do you know where he's from? --Diana

I think there is a gypsy in all of us. I read the excerpt for your book and believe it is my life we are talking about here! the necklace is awesome, maybe would release that gypsy in all of us, pushing us to new risks! Can't wait to get the book! Michelle

I love what you wrote Michelle. "Releasing the gypsy in all of us" is EXACTLY what Make Me a Match is about. --Diana

I just stumbled on your site and your contest, of course that necklace really caught my eye. [shucks I'm guilty of gluttony here] but then I started reading the reader comments and about your books and I'm hooked! Heck with the necklace [okay I won't give it back if you do give it to me] and give me your books instead!! Felicia

Hi Felicia. Welcome to the site! I hope you come back to visit. --Diana

Hi, Diana, can't say that I'd want to know if somebody else was my true love as I've always believed it's my hubby, since the first time our eyes locked. Gotta tell you how much I love that you wrote a book with a gypsy in it & I can't wait to read it. There were a band of gypsies living around the corner from my grandfather's bakery for years back in the early 50's when I was a kid. I remember seeing them when we'd visit his shop. There's a certain mystique to their dark looks and their colorful dress. Ann

Ann, where did you grow up? It's so hard to find info on gypsies in America. (There are oodles of books on European gypsies.) I don't know why that is. Maybe because we're so big on assimilation. Any theories? --Diana

Hi Diana! I can't wait to start reading "Hungry for More!" I always love a good book that has humor written all over it! I would love to win the necklace as I have collected jewelry for quite some time now and yours especially interests me! Thanks for a great web-site too! Always a fan..Sherry

Good luck in the contest, Sherry. It's been fun seeing how much interest there is in this sort of jewelry. I didn't realize how lucky I was to find it.
--Diana

HI Diana, I love reading too, however I would much rather read about gypsies than vampires! They were such an interesting people. I enjoy fun books, if they weren't fun why read? Have fun writing! Joyce

Joyce, thanks for the note. I hope you think Make Me a Match is fun. Let me know what you think. And for everyone who's been e-mailing me, asking for the second chapter, I will post it soon. I've been away almost all summer AND we just moved and I'm falling behind. Ugh! --Diana

Hi Diana, I love to curl up with a good book, and a big bowl of popcorn. Especially on a rainy day. The contest for the necklace sounds great too! Wanda

Hi Wanda. I know what you mean. We just got back from the beach. No rain. No popcorn. But books books books! I never get a chance to read so much. Nothing better. --Diana

Sounds like a new turn for romance. Thank you for the adventure. Tina

I hope you enjoy the ride! --Diana

Hi Diana, I was skimming through the Ingram catalog and your cover caught my eye. The blurb sounds like fun so I ordered it. Can't wait to read it. There's always something alluring about a gypsy woman. Two songs run thru my mind.Won't say which, age would be telling. I'll only admit to 29,lol. Take care, Kary

Hey Kary! I'm 29, too! What a coincidence. It's true that gypsy women are very alluring (love that word!). A reader e-mailed me that she's sick of vampire books and hopes that maybe gypsies will "be the new vampires." Personally, I think gypsies are as cool as vamps (if not cooler) AND they don't have that icky blood-drinking problem. Maybe we'll start a new trend... ---Diana

What a wonderful fun jewel! This would be just the piece to wear when I need that bit of confidence to be the indivdual that I like to be! Diana, you are a jewel to offer it, too!

thanks. --diana

Beautiful piece of history. I can't imagine wearing it now. I think I would have to put it in a shadowbox on velvet with information about it and display it for visitors. What a nice contest prize....Ruby Davis

Ruby...I know what you mean about displaying it. But when you put it on (not that I've been putting it on...no, no...it's been in my shadowbox...), it absolutely TRANSFORMS you. It's hard to explain...but it just works on anyone. Now, if I tried to put on, say, a belly-dancing skirt, that would definitely NOT work..--Diana

Any book that's fun to read and funny as well gets my vote right now. And I love ethnic things. My mother got started on that and since I love travel, history, and collect all sorts of things, a necklace like the one pictured would be a great addition for wearing and showing off. Sigrun

Hi Sigrun. I'm glad you thought Make Me a Match looked fun and funny. It is (I hope!)! If you don't win this contest, come back Sept 1 when I'm giving away a piece of "Haunted" gypsy jewelry. Now that should be fun. --Diana

I think the next best thing to a good book to read is to win a contest. Mary D.

I agree! Well, those two things and a nice, cold glass of white wine. --Diana

hi, i cant wait to see what the rest of the story is in your book. A good book for the back to school time when i have more FREE time!

Hmmm...you must be a Mom (or a Dad). September is coming--blessed be! I love my kids endlessly, but free time sure is nice, too. --Diana

Diana, the necklace looks interesting and after reading the excerpt I can't wait to read the book. I love a romance with a sense of humor. —Romaine

Oh, good. I love a reader with a sense of humor. I hope you like the rest of the book.--Diana

I also meant to include my father's real birth name and see if it cross your path in your research of gypsies. It is Buday. It is not very common in America. Sharon Bryan

Hi Sharon. I'll look out for it. It's great to hear from people with gypsy heritage. I'd love to hear from you after you read the book. Let me know what you think (and if I got anything wrong). --Diana

Hi, cool site. I hope to wim your contest and hope you don't think my email was so dumb since I accidently put bracelet instead of necklace - but I was thinking so much of my heritage with the gypsies and their bracelets that I put bracelet instead of necklace. I do love your book that is on the website and hope to buy it soon. Sharon Bryan

Hi again Sharon. Next month, look for the contest for a gypsy ring. That should really mess you up! :) --Diana

Hungry for More sounds very interesting, I'm going to have to pick up a copy . Yet another book to add to the TBR pile! Chrissy Dionne onourown4@oregoncoast.com

I hope you enjoy the book...--Diana

That necklace really caught my eye and I ended up reading your website....Now I will put your book on my list for fall. And I could give that necklace a nice home!! Mary Jo Hinkel 3994 Holladay Park Loop S.E. Lacey WA 98503

Thanks for thinking of the book and not just the necklace! (Gotta make a little money here to keep these contests going...)--Diana

Wow-I did a double take when I noticed your last name--my maiden name is close to the same except for a 't' between the 'l' n 'q'. lol love your comment on 'throwing out the tv'-but its so true, theres so much out there in the world to notice firsthand that you dont need to see on tv. Looking forward to your book in sept! Good LUCK in future writings & the move! Heres a question-how's it feel having no cavities! cuz Im sitting here with one sore mouth after having a cavity filled yesterday! Toni

Hi Toni. Thanks for all the good wishes. Us 'quists gotta stick together. The TV thing is so tricky. People ask me all the time how they can get published and I always tell them to lose the TV...but no one takes me seriously. Honestly, how can you have a day job and kids and watch even an hour of TV a day and still write? They must have VERY nice husbands. As for the cavities...I feel very, very lucky. I know any day now, I'll take a bite of a hotdog and they'll all fall out. But for now, my fingers are crossed. Sorry about your cavity. i hope you're better. --Diana

you have a totally awesome site, i go there frequently to check it out! Keep up the great work! annamarie rutschke

Thanks, Annamarie. I hope as the book gets closer, I'll be able to add more. Stay tuned!--Diana

I love the exerpts, they really tempt. & you have a great site. Felina Maris

Thnaks, Felina. I hope you'll keep coming back. --Diana
